Projects

HiPCAT is the parent organization for several projects related to high performance computing, grid computing, and their academic, scientific, and industrial use throughout the state. The first formal project to be created by HiPCAT is the Texas Internet Grid for Research & Education (TIGRE), now in progress.
TIGRE is a computational grid development and deployment project that will integrate many of the
compute, visualization, and storage systems of HiPCAT institutions to provide enhanced
capabilities for researchers in Texas. The project includes the exploration and development of data collections and databases, computational resources, instruments, and sensors to provide a powerful, comprehensive integrated grid for knowledge discovery.
